Imperial Pints to Cubic Inches (pt (UK) to in³)
1 imperial pint equals 34.6774291 cubic inches (rounded).
How to convert imperial pints to cubic inches
To convert imperial pints to cubic inches, multiply the number of imperial pints by 34.6774291. The factor is rounded to 10 significant digits. To go the other way, multiply cubic inches by 0.0288372012 (rounded).
cubic inches = imperial pints × 34.6774291
Example: 10 imperial pints = 346.774291 cubic inches.
Pints, quarts, gallons and fluid ounces differ between the US and the UK. Units are labeled 'US' or 'imperial' to avoid confusion.
About these units
Imperial Pint (pt (UK))
Exactly 568.26125 mL (20 imperial fluid ounces). The pint of beer and milk in the UK and Ireland.
The imperial pint derives from Parliament's 1824 decision to replace Britain's assorted gallons with one defined by ten pounds of water at 62 degrees Fahrenheit. A pint is one eighth of that gallon and holds 20 imperial fluid ounces, or exactly 568.26125 milliliters. The word reached English from French pinte, which in modern French now means half a liter, while Canadian French uses it for the imperial quart.
That pint is about 20 percent larger than the US liquid pint of 473 mL, so a pint in Dublin or London buys noticeably more beer than one in Chicago. When Britain metricated, the pint was kept for draught beer and cider and for milk in returnable bottles, and draught beer has to be served in measured, stamped glasses. Culturally the pint is more than a measure: it is shorthand for a night at the pub.
1 imperial pint = 0.56826125 liters (exactly).

Cubic Inch (in³)
Exactly 16.387064 mL. Used for engine displacement in the US and for small mechanical parts.
Cubic inch is a unit defined by a ruler. Take an inch, build a cube, and its volume is exactly 16.387064 milliliters under the modern definition of the inch as 25.4 millimeters. Its main role in history is as the building block behind other US volumes: the US gallon is defined as 231 cubic inches, so a cubic inch is exactly 1/231 of a gallon. Even the 42-gallon oil barrel works out to precisely 9,702 of them.
The cubic inch survives most visibly in American engines, which are abbreviated c.i.d. for cubic inch displacement, while the rest of the world and many modern automakers speak in liters. A 5.7 liter engine is about 350 cubic inches, a conversion made easy by the exact factor of 16.387064. Small mechanical parts are also sized in cubic inches in North America.
1 cubic inch = 0.016387064 liters (exactly).
