Cubic Yards to US Pints (yd³ to pt)
1 cubic yard equals 1,615.792208 US pints (rounded).
How to convert cubic yards to US pints
To convert cubic yards to US pints, multiply the number of cubic yards by 1,615.792208. The factor is rounded to 10 significant digits. To go the other way, multiply US pints by 0.0006188914609 (rounded).
US pints = cubic yards × 1,615.792208
Example: 10 cubic yards = 16,157.92208 US pints.
Pints, quarts, gallons and fluid ounces differ between the US and the UK. Units are labeled 'US' or 'imperial' to avoid confusion.
About these units
Cubic Yard (yd³)
27 cubic feet or 764.555 liters. Used for soil, gravel and concrete in the US.
Cubic yard is a cube three feet on each side, which makes it exactly 27 cubic feet or 46,656 cubic inches. In metric terms it is about 0.7646 cubic meters, or 764.55 liters. The unit follows the yard in the United States and Canada, and British railways once rated ballast wagons by it, with one Great Western Railway wagon holding 8 cubic yards.
A cubic yard is easier to picture than the number suggests. It holds about 202 US gallons, or nearly five oil barrels. That is a scale where bulk materials such as soil, gravel, mulch and concrete are naturally counted, so a patio slab or garden bed needs a handful of them. A handy rule of thumb follows from the arithmetic: one cubic yard spread one inch deep covers 324 square feet.
1 cubic yard = 764.554858 liters (approximately).

US Pint (pt)
One eighth of a US gallon, 473.176 mL (16 US fluid ounces). The US pint is about 17% smaller than the imperial pint.
Pint seems to come from Old French pinte, possibly from a Latin word meaning painted, perhaps because capacity marks were painted on containers. British North America inherited the 231-cubic-inch wine gallon around 1707, and the US liquid pint was derived from it as one eighth. After Britain adopted the imperial gallon in 1824, American and British pints parted ways for good.
Today the US liquid pint is exactly 28.875 cubic inches, or 473.176473 milliliters. The imperial pint, at 568.26125 mL, is about 20 percent larger. That is why a pint of beer in an American bar is a lesser drink than a pint in an English pub, and why recipes from different countries cannot swap pints blindly. In the US a pint is a common size for ice cream, cream and craft beer, and a separate US dry pint of about 550.6 milliliters measures blueberries and cherry tomatoes.
1 US pint = 0.473176473 liters (exactly).
