Grams to Slugs (g to slug)
1 gram equals 0.00006852176586 slugs (rounded).
How to convert grams to slugs
To convert grams to slugs, multiply the number of grams by 0.00006852176586. The factor is rounded to 10 significant digits. To go the other way, multiply slugs by 14,593.90294 (rounded).
slugs = grams × 0.00006852176586
Example: 10 grams = 0.0006852176586 slugs.
About these units
Gram (g)
One thousandth of a kilogram. The standard unit for food quantities and small objects.
A gram was once defined as a small drop of the natural world. The French National Convention of 1795 set it as the absolute weight of a volume of pure water equal to a cube one hundredth of a metre on each side, a cubic centimetre. The reference temperature was first the melting point of ice and was later changed to the temperature of maximum density of water, about 4 degrees Celsius. The word came into French as gramme, from Late Latin gramma, itself from the Greek for a letter or small mark; in Late Antiquity it meant about one twenty-fourth of an ounce.
The gram was the base unit of mass in the centimetre-gram-second system, but in 1960 the SI took the kilogram as its base unit, which made the gram one thousandth of it. That is why it appears in so many everyday places: it is the standard for non-liquid ingredients in cooking and shopping, and nutrition labels commonly list contents per 100 g. For a sense of scale, a small paper clip or a pen cap weighs about a gram, and a Japanese 1-yen coin is close to exactly that, while a US penny is around 2.5 g.
1 gram = 0.001 kilograms (exactly).

Slug (slug)
About 14.594 kg. The US engineering unit of mass: the mass that accelerates at 1 ft/s² under a force of 1 pound-force.
Physics teachers in feet-and-pounds countries face an awkward fact: the pound is used both as a unit of mass and as a unit of force. The slug removes the ambiguity. It is the mass that a force of one pound-force accelerates at one foot per second squared, so that one slug equals one lbf s squared per foot. The British physicist Arthur Mason Worthington is credited with coining the name before 1900, taking it in the sense of a block of metal rather than the mollusc. An older name for it was the geepound.
One slug is about 14.594 kg, which is roughly 32.17 avoirdupois pounds, and the figure used here follows standard gravity, the international foot and the avoirdupois pound. An object of one slug weighs about 143.1 newtons at the Earth's surface. The unit belongs to the gravitational foot-pound-second system and stayed mostly in American engineering while a 1928 textbook noted that no special name was really needed. Its inch-based cousin, 12 slugs, is jokingly called a blob or slinch.
1 slug = 14.59390294 kilograms (approximately).
