About these units
Score (score)
Twenty items. Seen in 'threescore years and ten' and 'four score and seven years ago'.
Score is a counting word for twenty, and it likely began as a notch. The Old Norse skor meant a notch or tally cut into a stick, and every twentieth mark was made larger, so the word came to mean twenty itself. English often pairs it with a number, as in threescore or fourscore. People also use scores loosely for a large, unspecified number.
Two famous passages keep the unit visible. In Psalm 90:10 of the King James Bible, the days of our years are threescore years and ten, which is 70, or fourscore, which is 80, if strength allows. And on November 19, 1863, Abraham Lincoln opened the Gettysburg Address with four score and seven years ago, meaning 87 years, which counts back to 1776 and the Declaration of Independence. A score of years is simply two decades.
1 score = 20 pieces (exactly).

Crore (crore)
Ten million (10⁷), or one hundred lakh. Written 1,00,00,000 in the Indian numbering system.
Sanskrit had separate words for most powers of ten from 100 up to 10 to the 19th. The crore comes from one of them: the Prakrit kroḍi, which derives from the Sanskrit koṭi, and in Hindi and Urdu it is karoṛ. In Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam the cognate is kōṭi. Outside South Asia, koṭi travelled mostly through Buddhist texts, and in Indonesian and Malay keti means 100,000, a lakh, instead of ten million.
A crore is 100 lakh, or 10,000,000, and is written 1,00,00,000 in Indian grouping. It is the natural unit for large sums of money in India, Bangladesh and Pakistan, so 150,000,000 rupees is 15 crore rupees. For amounts in the trillions, the system's next named units, arab and kharab, are rarely used, so people say lakh crore for 10 to the 12th. Nepal and Sri Lanka both used the system in the past but have moved to international numbering in recent years.
1 crore = 10,000,000 pieces (exactly).
