Pebibytes to Terabytes (PiB to TB)
1 pebibyte equals 1,125.899907 terabytes (rounded).
How to convert pebibytes to terabytes
To convert pebibytes to terabytes, multiply the number of pebibytes by 1,125.899907. The factor is rounded to 10 significant digits. To go the other way, multiply terabytes by 0.0008881784197 (rounded).
terabytes = pebibytes × 1,125.899907
Example: 10 pebibytes = 11,258.99907 terabytes.
Decimal prefixes (kB, MB, GB) are powers of 1,000; binary prefixes (KiB, MiB, GiB) are powers of 1,024. Storage makers use decimal; Windows reports binary but labels it GB.
About these units
Pebibyte (PiB)
Exactly 2⁵⁰ bytes (about 1.126 petabytes).
Pebi was one of the two prefixes, with exbi, that the IEC added in January 1999 as Amendment 2 to IEC 60027-2, extending the set it approved in December 1998. The name keeps the first two letters of peta and appends bi for binary, and the symbol is PiB. It is a binary unit of exactly 2^50 bytes, or 1,125,899,906,842,624 bytes.
That is 1,024 tebibytes. Set against the decimal petabyte of 10^15 bytes, a pebibyte is about 12.6 percent larger, a gap that has grown with each prefix step from 2.4 percent at kilo. As a result, anyone who divides a 1 PB figure from a storage vendor by 2^50 will see about 0.89 PiB.
The pebibyte is useful where capacity is counted in powers of two and the exact size must be unambiguous. Wikipedia illustrates the petabyte scale as about 2,000 years of music in MP3 form.
1 pebibyte = 1.125899907×10¹⁵ bytes (approximately).

Terabyte (TB)
1,000 gigabytes (10¹² bytes), the capacity of a typical modern hard drive.
Tera comes from the SI prefix for 10 to the twelfth, so a terabyte is one million million bytes. Computer memory is binary, so the prefixes were once used for powers of two, which caused confusion. IUPAC proposed binary prefixes such as kibi, mebi and gibi in 1995, and the IEC adopted them in December 1998 and published the standard in January 1999. The tebibyte is the binary counterpart, about 9 percent larger than the terabyte.
Hitachi introduced the first one-terabyte consumer hard drive in 2007. For scale, one terabyte is about 20 standard Blu-ray discs or 213 DVDs. The mismatch shows at this size: a drive sold as 1 TB may be reported as about 931 GB, because Windows uses the historic binary convention. macOS and iOS did the same until Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard and iOS 10, then switched to powers of 10.
1 terabyte = 1,000,000,000,000 bytes (exactly).
