Moles to Pieces (mol to pc)
1 mole equals 6.02214076×10²³ pieces exactly.
How to convert moles to pieces
To convert moles to pieces, multiply the number of moles by 6.02214076×10²³. This factor is exact. To go the other way, multiply pieces by 1.660539067×10⁻²⁴ (rounded).
pieces = moles × 6.02214076×10²³
Example: 10 moles = 6.02214076×10²⁴ pieces.
Large-number names differ around the world: this site uses the short scale (billion = 10⁹) by default, and lists the long-scale billion separately.
About these units
Mole (mol)
Exactly 6.02214076×10²³ entities (the Avogadro number). The SI unit for amount of substance in chemistry.
The mole counts particles the way a dozen counts eggs, only on a vastly larger scale: exactly 6.02214076 × 10²³ elementary entities, which may be atoms, molecules, ions, electrons, or other specified particles. The mole became the seventh SI base unit in 1971, and the term itself dates from around 1900, shortened from the German Molekül. In 1909 Jean Perrin named the number in honor of Amedeo Avogadro.
Until 2019 a mole was the number of atoms in 0.012 kilogram of carbon-12, so the count depended on the kilogram. Effective May 20, 2019, the SI fixed the number itself, and the mole no longer rests on a physical sample. As a result the molar mass of carbon-12 is no longer known exactly. The chosen number kept it at 0.012 kilogram per mole, with a relative uncertainty of 4.5 × 10⁻¹⁰, at the moment of adoption. For scale, about 18 grams of water holds roughly this many molecules.
1 mole = 6.02214076×10²³ pieces (exactly).

Piece (pc)
A single item.
Piece is the plain unit for counting individual items, with no grouping implied. The word reached English from Old French piece, which came from Late Latin pecia or petia, meaning a fragment or a parcel of land. Its ultimate origin is uncertain, though Wiktionary notes a possible Gaulish source. It displaced the native Old English styce, which meant the same kind of thing.
Wiktionary defines it as a single item belonging to a class of similar items, and the word turns up in compounds such as by the piece, piece rate, and piecework. Every other counting unit in this family is just a fixed number of pieces: a pair is 2, a dozen 12, a gross 144, and a great gross 1,728. Treating the piece as the base is what lets any of them convert into any other by simple multiplication or division.
The piece is the reference unit for counting & quantity on this site.
